Winter Park, Colorado is “The Mountain Bike Capital of the USA,” with over 600 miles of trails.

For those of you who are daring, take Upper Arapahoe: Winter Park Resort’s downhill race course. For those of you interested in a more leisurely route, try The Long Trail: an easy seven mile trail down the mountain.
New to Winter Park Resort is their Trestle Bike Park. It has 28 miles of downhill freeride trails and is the summertime equivalent to a terrain park. Tabletop jumps, elevated stunts, drops and banked cruisers are just a few of the features that make up this new bike park.
Sunspot is where to get a quick lunch at the top of the ski lifts. The view is amazing, with 360-degree views of the surrounding mountains. Also fun to see for those who are used to a snow-covered Winter Park!
Off the resort, there are plenty more trails all over the Fraser Valley. The Rocky Mountains provide lots of rugged trails to climb and many gentle slopes as well. Wildflowers are gorgeous in Colorado in the summer throughout the quiet meadows in the state.
From The Fraser River Trail’s gentle-grade paved path for cruisers to Icarus Path’s twisted single-track, the Winter Park area has a trail for everyone.
SolVista at Granby Ranch is another ski resort with biking possibilities. The trails and amenities at SolVista cater to bikers of varying skill levels.
All summer long, Winter Park hosts bike races that are open to the public. The races vary in skill level and usually take place at Winter Park Resort. The King of the Rockies is just one of these fun events.
After the bike race, attend a concert or music festival, both of which are common events in Winter Park during the summer months. The Food, Wine & Beer Festival and the Jazz Festival are two of the most popular.
Pick up a free mountain trail guide when you get to Winter Park and you’ll be set. The whole town is prepared to serve bikers (as well as skiers/boarders), with repair shops and rental agencies with maps peppering the town.
